4 STEPS TO SAFETY

1. Find Out What Can Happen To You

2. Create A Disaster Plan

3. Prepare Yourself and Your Family

4. Practice and Maintain Your Plan

Practicing your plan, and using tools regularly will keep you and your family familiar with them, and help you to respond when a disaster happens.

  • Quiz your family every six months
  • Conduct a fire/evacuation drill
  • Consult your plan when a disaster happens and make notes of things to improve
  • Listen to local Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio stations and listen to alert messages broadcast by local media.
  • Take care of yourself and your family first, then helps others when possible
